Yay! The paper was turned in at 10AM this morning. Now all that's left this week is a test tomorrow that should be fine, and then an interview that's due on Friday. I'm hoping and praying the person I interview is going to be acceptable to my teacher. We were supposed to find someone locally, but I couldn't, so I got someone who's Laura's teacher in Little Rock. She's very esteemed professor, so I figure it'll be fine.

Laura is coming into town tonight. She's bringing her new puppy Einstein! Dad was a little weary about him being in the house, but she talked him into it. She's coming in tonight and staying until Friday, so we're having a swimming get together tomorrow night since I'm off of work. Some friends and their kids are coming over after work and we're just gonna make an evening of it. It should be fun--look for pictures in the next couple of days.

Only 5 more days of classes! Then I get a break for about 2 weeks, and then another round starts. Luckily I don't have to retake biology next session. I am SO excited about that. I was dreading going to see my advisor and asking if I had to retake it. If you're in a profession program like Nursing or Pharmacy you have to pass classes with a C to get credit for them. Well, I made a D in bio last semester (I know, scold me later) so I was petrified I would have to retake it. But, I talked to Dr. Jordan and she said since I'm not in any kind of professional program, that is a fine grade, because it is passing. It did bring my GPA down some, but at least I'm done with it for good.

Dad told me last night that I needed to make sure when next semester starts I go to the dean's office to check out for graduation. That scares me too. I'm almost certain I will get there to check out and they will tell me "oh we're sorry, we told you wrong. you're NEVER going to graduate." or something along those lines. God help me if that happens. Shy, timid Amie will rear her ugly head.

I'm on the prowl for a "little black dress". I'm kinda on a budget, I'd like to spend up to only $50 on one. I found a few yesterday that I liked. One I really liked was torn, so they may come down on the price, but I don't know if mom will be able to repair it. I think tomorrow I'm gonna go to Ross's to see what they have. I hate going to that store, but everyone I know loves it, so maybe I'll have patience to see what they have. Sometimes I shop like a man--I go in and get ONLY what I want, and don't look around. It's just easier that way sometimes.

Anyway, I'm at work, between calls. I'm waiting for the "BEEP" and my greeting to come on any minut--wait, there it is...see ya!

I couldn't resist taking this picture with my phone at the doctor's office Tuesday. If you look closely, that's the container they use to disinfect the ear thingie.

Sad thing is, they probably had to put that note on there for a reason. Gross!!

I officially had the "crud" this week. Started out as a bad sore throat last Thursday, and by Saturday I was losing my voice. A little better on Sunday, and then I woke up Monday morning with horrible sinus pain and a stopped up nose. I finally broke down and went to the doctor after class on Tuesday. He said that since I didn't have fever and was at least smiling some, it wasn't strep (he'd seen a case earlier that day).

Classes are going well so far. I have a book report due next Wednesday, an interview due by next Friday in the other class. I think I like this internet class thing. It's pretty straightforward!

I'm getting excited about the wedding next month. I talked to Sam today through email and we're gonna have the lingerie shower/bacherlorette party on the roof of a restaurant in downtown Baton Rouge. It's gonna be like a cocktail party and all the girls will wear their favorite little black dresses. We'll eat and have the lingerie shower there, and then afterwards we'll go out on the town and have some fun. I asked Sam if I needed to bring some dollar bills (*wink* wink*), but she said probably not. Oh well. :)

I tell you what--after that weekend of the wedding, it'll be a while til I dress up that much again. But it's gonna be fun, I can't wait. I get to act like a girly girl, and I'm actually excited about it! I know most people don't get to see me like that much, so I'm sure I'll be getting all kinds of comments on my clothing. Hehe.

Anyway, it's after midnight and I have to be on campus at 9AM to take a test with some classmates. The test is online so we all meet up at the library and take it together and help each other out. That's the way God intended tests to be taken :)

A concert and a wedding! --updated--

Friday night found Heather and I in Jackson for the Martina McBride concert. Such a good way to end a stressful week. She's amazing live, actually sounds better than some of her CDs! We had awesome seats, even though they were kinda in the back. We were on the front row of our section, so we had a direct shot of the stage. I took tons of pictures, and also a video clip. It messes up a little towards the end, something about the way my camera does it, but you can still get an idea.

Saturday evening, mom and I went to Natchitoches for a wedding. Addie and I grew up together and got called twins because we favored each other so much. She's now graduated from LSU and married a very nice guy, Brenton. I'm so happy for her!

I heard on the radio today that the 2007 Playboy Playmate of the Year will be at a local bar this weekend and "anybody who was anybody would be there". I guess I'm not "anybody".

I went shopping today with a friend who is expecting a baby girl in October. She wanted to look around to see what kind of stuff was in the stores and see what she liked clotheswise for the bambino. Most of the stuff she leaned towards were the bright colored oranges and pinks rather than the soft pastels. All in all it was a nice trip. It was good to get out of the house and hang out with an adult friend.

First summer session starts Monday. I have one online class that I'm starting to get a little anxious about because I haven't been able to get in touch with the professor. The other class is at 9:45 Monday through Friday, and I think it should be alright. The teacher sent an email out earlier this week with an outline. And all our tests will be online, so that's good too.

Tomorrow Heather and Cameron and probably Andi and her girls are coming over to go swimming. I think they'll be here around 2ish, and will probably stay til about 4 or 5ish. Then I have plans to go to Walmart and get all my school supplies I'll need this summer, and to also see what kind of clothes they have. I'm in the need for some summertime clothes--big time. I have some stuff, but I can't wear it to work, so I need to get more stuff that is geared towards that. The stuff I have is mostly shorts and tank tops, so those aren't work appropriate.

Next weekend I'll be in Natchitoches for Addie's wedding. We grew up together, our dads taught together, my sister and her brothers were friends, etc. It's only natural that I go to her wedding. It'll be nice to see some people I haven't seen in a long time.
