He climbs walls...

Aww, my lil Spiderman. He's so cute. For the longest time he wouldn't put on this costume, and then all of a sudden Heather said he decided he wanted to wear it everywhere! I believe he wore it to the grocery store the other day. ;)

Showing off his muscles...

Hi there!

Dad made the first fire of the season tonight. Too bad I was at work.

The house smells like Christmas now. It makes me happy.

make up your mind already

I felt actually pretty good on Sunday, then woke up Monday feeling poopy again. So today I decided to go back to the clinic I normally go to. I saw a different doctor today, she may have even been a nurse practitioner. She took one look at me and said it definitely wasn't an allergy attack I was having. Now I have another sinus infection AND double ear infection. After an antibiotic shot and another two scripts, I am now taking a grand total of 4 pills a day. Yippy dooda.

Other than that, everything else is well. I was actually getting used to feeling like this, back when I thought I was going to be living like this every time the weather changed...which is not far from the norm. This doc did say that if I come back next week, she'll check me out again and if I'm not better by her standards she would refer me to an ENT. Yippy dooda again.

Later folks. Schoolwork and and early bedtime awaits.

...'tis the season

And so it begins. Or has begun. Whatever it is, I'm already sick of it! Being sick that is. My throat started getting a little scratchy Tuesday evening, but I didn't think anything of it. I hate having a sore throat, and last time it happened I spent a fortune at Walmart getting all kinds of medicine just to have it gone by the next day. So when it was still scratchy on Thursday I finally went to the doctor. I usually just go to the clinic in town because it's faster, but considering I was just sick 2 weeks ago I decided to see my G.P. and see what was going on. I was hoping I would be able to get him to refer me to an ENT to see if there was something wrong with my sinuses. No such luck. Dr. Dollar said that I just have severe allergies and it's the season for them. Well, for me, it's ALWAYS the season for them!

After he reassured me that I wasn't contagious as long as I didn't have fever (if I did have fever, it wouldn't be allergies, now would it?) he finally said he'd start me on a daily allergy medicine and slowly work my way up until we found something that helped the symptoms.

I was invited to a Halloween party tonight, but backed out at the last minute. I felt so bad, I was really looking forward to going. I sure hope they had a good time, it sounded like it was going to be a lot of fun. I just knew if I did go and got to feeling bad I wouldn't have a good time and would probably make everyone else around me miserable or annoyed...and we sure don't want that!

I was also supposed to take the Civil Service test this morning, but my alarm clock has a mind of it's own and didn't go off on time. Then again, it could've been my sleepy self turning the snooze on without waking up--I've been known to do that!

So what was supposed to be a fairly busy day turned into a bum day for me. It's probably what I needed though. I finally went out and voted around 5 and ran to Wal Mart for a few groceries. In the produce department they have these individual packages of fruit that are just so handy to grab for snacks! They have apples, grapes, and some with both in a pack. I'm doing Weight Watchers right now, and the grape packs are only 1 point and the apple packs are 0 points. Yay! I've lost 2lbs so far, and have been doing it for 2 weeks. I didn't do that well this past week, but I'm going to start back again Sunday.

I have a test next week on Monday. I also have a few projects coming up that I need to work on...a movie review and 2 book reviews. I just recently bought myself a new book to read, and that was a mistake because I want to read it instead of the books for school!

Mom is in Shreveport tonight and tomorrow. It was a girls' night for them at Superior and they were spending the night and gonna go out on the town. I'm quite interested in hearing about what they get into over there. Kinda scary! It's just me and dad here tonight. We watched a few movies on tv, talked about school/job hunting (ahhh!), and now we're catching up on football scores. It's been a nice, quiet day at home. And I'm going to try to be in bed before midnight.

I need to figure out what I'm wearing to church in the morning...

ever feel this way? i do...

free player from mysplayer.com

I would take 'no' for an answer
Just to know I heard You speak
And I’m wonderin’ why I’ve never
Seen the signs they claim they see
Are the special revelations
Meant for everybody but me?
Maybe I don’t truly know You
Or maybe I just simply believe

‘Cause I can sniff, I can see
And I can count up pretty high
But these faculties aren’t getting me
Any closer to the sky
But my heart of faith keeps poundin’
So I know I’m doin’ fine
But sometimes finding You
Is just like trying to
Smell the color nine

Now I’ve never ‘felt the presence’
But I know You’re always near
And I’ve never ‘heard the calling’
But somehow You’ve led me right here
So I’m not looking for burning bushes
Or some divine graffiti to appear
I’m just beggin’ You for some wisdom
And I believe You’re puttin’ some here

‘Cause I can sniff, I can seek,
I can count up pretty high
But these faculties aren’t getting me
Any closer to the sky
But my heart of faith keeps poundin’
So I know I’m doin’ fine
But sometimes finding You
Is just like trying to
Smell the color nine

Smell the color nine?
But nine’s not a color
And even if it were you can’t smell a color, no
That's my point exactly...

contemplating...

As some of you know, I've had a really good opportunity offered to me recently. My cousin, Ina, is one of my older cousins that I only see every 5 or 10 years, if that much. She's from New Jersey, but became a pro basketball player during and after college and eventually moved to Switzerland and played for a pro team over there. I think the last time I saw her was when my grandmother died, and that was back in the 90s. Mom and Laura took a trip overseas a few years ago and met up with her, so that was neat. But other than that, it's kind of hard to just jet off to New Jersey or Switzerland to visit.

Anyway, after she retired from playing basketball, she opened up her own camp for kids. Check it out here. She's always told me that if I wanted to come work the camp during the summer that she'd have a job for me. Of course, I was still in high school then, so it wasn't really possible. Now, she's turned that camp into a daycare/preschool during the school year, and they're hoping to turn it into a kindergarten/lower elementary school.

The other day, she called the house just to check in, as she normally does at times. Mom mentioned that I was graduating in December and that I had this idea in my head that I would magically get a job and move to Colorado or somewhere like that. Ina proceeded to tell mom that if I wanted to come over there after graduation and work for a few weeks or months, I could stay with her for free. She has this huge house and said I could stay on the top floor studio apartment type thing for FREE! How awesome is that?!

I still haven't worked out all the details yet, like how much I'd be paid or anything like that. But, even if I only made enough to pay for my plane ticket, wouldn't it be worth the experience? Traveling to a foreign country by myself is a little scary, but I'm sure there are tons of books and other things I can read to help me adjust :)

Besides...who can say no to this?

...or this....?

I LOVE my computer!!!!!

Tuesday, October 2, 2007

I was very disappointed that I didn't get to make it to have coffee tonight with some friends while my sister and her boyfriend were in town. I didn't get off work until 8:30, and they had dinner and coffee and were on their way home by the time I was leaving. They did bring me something to eat though. It was yummy!

I get home and ask Jeremy what their plans were for the evening. He just said they were hanging out and weren't doing much. After dad gets home we're all sitting in the living room just hanging out, and Laura tells me to close my eyes. I'm a little freaked out, I don't know what to expect. I close them, and the next thing I know, a huge box is placed in my lap. I open them, and it's this brown cardboard box that has a big "C" on it. I'm a little confused, so I open it, and look what I found!!

It's an early Christmas/Graduation present from the both of them. They were going to give it to me then, but Jeremy talked Laura into giving it to me earlier so I could use it for school this last semester. Yay!!!!

And apparantly a TON of people knew I was getting it too, and didn't say a WORD about it! Even after having conversations today about how expensive they were....I'm not naming names though Rebecca :)

Yay me!!!
