Not me Monday!

Not me!

--I did not get pulled over last night on the way home due to a headlight being out. He was very nice and did not (really) give me a ticket. Said he was patrolling and looking for potential DWI's, so since I hadn't been drinking he just told me to be careful and let me go. I did go by O'Reilly's after church this morning and did flirt with the worker there so he'd change it for me.

--Dad did not just make a fire in the fireplace and fill the entire house up with smoke. He blames the wind today, but I think he forgot to open the flue. But he'll never admit it. We also did not have to open all the doors and turn the fans on to get the smoke out. That would defeat the purpose of making a fire, wouldn't it.

--I did not take a nap Tuesday (since I was off work) from 6pm-9:30pm and then stay awake until 3am. Nope, not me!

--My mom does not think I'm sneaking around and dating someone from work. Well, actually, she does. Seriously. But I'm not. Seriously.

--I did not just eat 2 pieces of pecan pie while thinking of other things I didn't do this week.

Not Me!

I haven't participated in this yet, so I figured now was as good a time as any. Here goes, and don't forget to play along! And yes, I know it's not Monday quite yet, but hey--I'm only 39 minutes early....

--I did not just eat almost an entire pint of vanilla ice cream while sitting in bed perusing the internet. That's not on my "diet" and it did NOT happen!

--I did not hold Tanner (or Melain for that matter) at any point this week AFTER they fell asleep, just because I wanted to smell their sweet baby smell just a little bit longer. That would be a bad "aunt"/godmother on my part, spoiling those babies like that.

--I did not just spend over an hour in Photoshop trying to figure out how to move one picture to another one, just to use it's background. I did not want to throw my ice cream across the room when I realized the exposure and lighting didn't match and there was no way it would work. Nope.

--I did not dunk my supervisor in a dunking booth at work a few weeks ago. I missed every time I threw, so I did not whack the button with my hand when I was done. (So technically this one isn't from this week, but I was desperate people!)

Oooo!

I'm sure you've noticed the button on the right side of the blog, linking you to MckMama's site. In fact, Laura, I know you participate in Not Me! Mondays, that was started by this post. (Wow, I'm getting a little link happy aren't I?) If you haven't read this site, I strongly encourage it. This is a woman who was told that her unborn son would not survive a pregnancy, let alone birth, that his heart was enlarged, had super irregular heart rhythms, and that she would most certainly lose him. She's also a woman who has 3 other absolutely gorgeous children. And she's a woman who gave birth to a perfectly healthy baby boy about 3 weeks ago. Her site reaches millions, and those millions of people have been in prayer for this baby boy and his family from the very beginning.

She's also a woman who loves doing giveaways!! Her most recent Fryday (because we call her baby girl Small Fry--that's her to the left, isn't she the sweetest thing!) post talks about a giveaway that she will be doing at the end of the weekend. Did I mention that she's also a professional photographer? The prize for this giveaway is a custom blogger header and some photography related goodies. Did you see that part in my last post where I'm starting to take more pictures, friends are asking me to take pictures, and I'm wanting to learn how to understand photography better? Do you think some extra photography goodies would be well received by yours truly?

Weekend update

So what's been going on with everyone? I feel like I haven't really done a "real" post in ages. With all the traveling, concert-hopping, and just plain busy-ness, it's hard to find time to really write anything anymore. So this is my time to catch up! Our system is down at work tonight, so I'm milking it for all it's worth taking the opportunity to catch up on some writing.

What's everyone got planned for this weekend? I'll be working until 10:30 tonight, and then I'll go home and curl up with Twilight. Anyone see the movie? I'm anxious to finish the book and then go see it. Tomorrow I plan on sleeping in and being lazy in the morning. My good friend Laura (who's gorgeous baby girl is my one and only Goddaughter) asked if I'd come take pictures of the kids tomorrow. They had family pictures done Sunday afternoon, but the kids weren't very cooperative and she didn't really get what she wanted. She knows my interest in photography, and I've taken some (okay a million) pictures of her kids just when I'm out there on the weekends, so she said she'd trust me to take some of the kids by themselves to use for their Christmas cards, and then come back on Sunday afternoon to do a few more family shots. I'm excited to learn more about my camera (digital and 35mm) and very curious to see how the pictures will turn out!

We had more housework done over the last week or so. Mom wanted the dining room, foyer and hallway painted since everything was so white. We couldn't be happier with the results. Well, mom couldn't be happier. My opinion doesn't really matter that much since it's their house :)

Thirty two years ago my parents said "I do". Three years after that, my sister was born. Four and a half years after that, I came along. To this day, they tell me if they'd had me first, they probably wouldn't have had any more. The sad thing is, they're completely serious.

So happy anniversary, mom and dad. From your youngest, not-always-nice, messy-room-dweller, hopefully-soon-to-be-moved-out youngest daughter. Hope you had a great one!

Sunday afternoon I was on the road yet again to ANOTHER concert! Suzy (and her 12 year old step-daughter) and I drove the short distance to Shreveport to see Sugarland at the Centurytel Center. We left around 2 and shopped on the Boardwalk until around 6:30, then we headed to the center. Kellie Pickler opened for them. We both figured she'd be the ditzy girl that she's always portrayed as on television, but she impressed both of us with her performance. Sugarland was great too--very energetic! It was the last show of their tour, so if they were tired and worn out, you couldn't tell. We had, as usual, a great time! We've decided this is going to be our "thing". We'll be the concert goers. We decided to wait until after the holidays before going to another one, but we are looking! Any suggestions?

Today's just not my day..

Me: "Hi, Mrs. ******? This is Amie from Century, I'm calling you about your internet problems you've been having for the past week or so.

Mrs. *******: "I'm not interested in anything you're selling."

Me: "Oh, I'm not selling anything, I was calling to see if you had a few minutes to troubleshoot your internet connection."

Mrs. ******: "I told you, I'm not interested in what you're trying to sell."

Me: "Do you have just a few minutes to try to get your computer online?"

Mrs. *******: *click*

You would think that after this customer has submitted numerous trouble reports about their internet having disconnect issues, they'd be willing to give us a chance to call them and troubleshoot. This was the FIFTH (that's 5 people) time this happened to me tonight. At least they didn't hang up as soon as I said my name like the first 4 people did.
