T minus...

..11 hours. And some odd minutes.

Today was my pre-op appointment. Laura came down last night and she went with me to help out with all those medical questions. They got a surgical history (just wisdom teeth) and some other information and then Dr. Dugas came in. He did a quick look up my nose and feel of my neck and stuff, and then I made him tell me exactly what he's going to do tomorrow. Big mistake. I'm glad now that I know what's going to be going on, but another part of me is that much more anxious. Another thing I didn't realize or just didn't choose to think about was that I'll have a tube in my throat too. With my wisdom teeth, many many years ago, all I had was the IV medication. I'll have an IV this time, but once I'm asleep from that medicine, they'll stick the tube down me. Guess that just took me by surprise.

My work schedule is possibly changing yet again. We had a meeting today with my supervisor and our team, and he said that since we're shorthanded on the weekends for some reason, we're going to have to come up with some way of resolving that. Right now I'm set for Tuesday-Saturday, 2-10:30. The days we get behind are on Friday nights and Saturday mornings. I suggested to my supervisor to let me work 2-10:30 on Tues-Thurs, and then on Friday and Saturday work a morning/day shift. He said he'd get back to me. We (he) have to figure out what's the best for the whole team. I may not get to pick my schedule.

I'll post pictures when I can. Dr. Dugas said he does take pictures of the surgery, and that I'll get to keep them, so as long as they're not too gory I'll put them on here. Laura said she'd take pictures of me to, to show how ugly I am all swollen. Can you feel the love?

Talk to everyone in a few days...

Yes, I feel the love. That cracked me up! Yes, you will have a tube down you. Anytime you have surgery, you have to be intabated. Sorry. You'll do fine! Just get lots of drugs!!
