Catching up...again

I feel like most of the time when I post these days I'm catching up on the last few weeks. I need to get in more of a habit of writing!

Let's see. In the past month I:

  • Threw my friend Sharon a baby shower, and then exactly 1 week later (almost to the hour!) she had baby Ryker Slade
  • Turned 25 and proceeded to have a quarter-life existential crisis/meltdown for about a week. I'm still not sure I'm totally over it. 25? Really?
  • Learned that some of the people in my company got laid off. Normally it wouldn't mean a whole lot, I work for a pretty big company, but these were people in my building and close to my team. They tell us our job is still safe, but I'm being very cautious.
  • Went with some friends to Destin over Labor Day weekend and had a great time. I swear, that Goddaughter of mine, if her mom doesn't watch it I'm going to totally steal her one of these days.

  • Realized that if I want to keep this "hobby" of photography, it's going to be an expensive one to support. We rented a lens for Destin and fell in love with it, so all it did was torture us to send it back!
  • Picked up an informational packet for Graduate School, and looked up information (but haven't registered quite yet) about the pre-tests I'll have to take before I can apply.
  • Finally got DSL at the apartment, so now I'm actually able to communicate with the outside world away from the computers and internet at work.
  • Thought and prayed very hard (and very long) about quitting my current job and trying to get a job in the field I'm thinking about for Graduate School. Money is the only factor, and it's a big one
  • Tomorrow my friend Suzie and I are going to Shreveport for a concert. We planned this months ago, and it kind of crept up on us this month.
That about sums up the last month or so. I stay pretty busy and while I do like having pajama days, I wouldn't have it any other way!

OK, so what concert and what will your grad work be in? Also, love the lens rental idea. I'm thinking of trying an 85...afraid I'll end up buying one! Oh, and do what I did, save your meltdown until 30!

Happy belated b-day!
