Allison

Most of you should remember my good friend's little girl Allison who's fighting cancer. She's 4, and had a large tumor removed from her chest back in late December. She started having bathroom accidents, and the doctors discovered she had excess spinal fluid on her spine, and it was causing pressure on some nerves going to her bladder. She had surgery on that 2 weeks ago today. She did great throughout the surgery and great afterwards. She's a rowdy little girl, full of energy, and I kept her for a day the Monday following her surgery, and she was goofy and silly and full of life.

Over this past weekend, Allison started complaining of headaches and then would throw up. She did this about 3 times and then Alicia took her to the ER. They said it looked and sounded like she was leaking spinal fluid internally, which was causing the headaches and making her sick. They told her to keep her flat on her back for the next 72 hours. You try telling that to a 4 year old. They've done the best they can.

I just talked to Alicia, and she's back at the ER with her tonight. I didn't get to talk to her long, but she said there's a knot above her incision on her back and it made her nervous. That's about all I know. I don't know if she's still getting sick or having headaches or not.

Please please keep this little girl in your prayers. She also still has a small spot of cancer in her chest, but for some reason the doctors aren't doing anything about it. They are just watching it right now. It kind of makes me mad that they are basically waiting for something bad to happen before they will treat it, but I guess that's why I don't have my M.D. degree...

I'll leave you with a picture of Allison that I took last Monday...

And here's a video too that I took of her just being silly...it's kind of dark, sorry...
